RALF OBERGFELL is a self-taught photographer and artist. He was born in Freiburg Germany (1971) and moved to London (1991) where he lives and works. He has studied at the London College of Printing (1996-1999) and became a founding member of Photodebut (2002). Since then his photographs have been shown in Photodebut's group exhibitions and appeared in Art Review, BBC, Bon, Creative Review, DayFour, Der Spiegel, Herald Tribune, Time Out, Vogue Korea and Grafik, the latter which awarded him with an emerging talent profile (2005). With the support of UNESCO he has photographed the social and cultural environments of the 'Urak Lawoi' (People of the Sea) in Borneo and Southern Thailand. His photographs became published in UNESCO's publication 'Urak Lawoi of the Adang Archipelago' (2007). In the same year he was nominated for the Paris Photography (PX3) Award. Ralf's first book 'Last Stop' (a photographic record of the London Routemaster bus) is published by Breedon Books and supported with an exhibition at the London Transport Museum (spring 2008).
