After gaining an MA in Fine Art at the University of Edinburgh, Ben Roberts settled in Bournemouth for two years to complete the FDA in Commercial Photography, graduating in 2006. He has since moved to Hackney and become a new member of Photodebut. Specialising in portraiture and documentary work, Ben has been published in Diva and Fashion Line magazines, and has exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh and the Candid Arts Trust in Angel. From October 2006 - February 2007, Ben will display his portraits of Chinese refugees at the Museum of London, as part of the show 'Belonging - Voices of London's Refugees'. While working as first assistant to established documentary photographer Zed Nelson, Ben also finds time to cover his own projects, including an ongoing portrait series, 'Weekenders', recording the surreal atmosphere on Bournemouth's beach in the early hours of the morning.
