Since graduating from Central Saint Martins four years ago, Alys has been working as a freelance photographer on editorial, advertising, educational and design commissions as well as exhibiting her own work. She was highly commended in the 2003 Observer Hodge Award, shortlisted for the first Jerwood Award for photography and also won the EXIT Magazine graduate award in 2003. She works regularly for Time Out and travels frequently for work - recent commissions include the Time Out Guide to Washington DC, Time Out Guide to Venice and she has been commissioned to shoot the upcoming New York Guide. She also works on a number of educational projects and recently completed a body of work for Spitalfields Education Department. Alys is currently working on two new projects in the UK and hopes in the future to continue to combine personal work with commissioned work.
