Following studies at UCL and Harvard Afshin worked as a photographer. Following a brief period assisting he won a merit in the Association of Photographers award, shot sporting  personalities from Olympic gold medallists to Formula One grand prix driver and inner city youths for the BBC’s Sport Relief and Comic relief. Further commissions, clients and publications followed such as the Observer, Penguin Books and Intersection Magazine. Afshin’s work has been exhibited and held in private and public galleries and museums in the UK and abroad. He photographed and produced the audio for the first foreign language audio visual slide slow for the BBC World Service website. He speaks English, Spanish and Farsi.
